The municipality of Ljubljana, which will hold the title of European Green Capital 2016, makes online communication its main priority.
Through www.greenljubljana.com we aim to inform our target audience of Ljubljana's existing »green« achievements and activities taking place in 2016, when Ljubljana will hold the prestigeous title of European Green Capital, and to encourage the target audience to take action to contribute to a greener tomorrow.
Through representative projects, which have led Ljubljana to take on this green initiative, we offer ideas on how, as individuals, we can be even more environmentally friendly in our daily lives, and we call upon and recruit visitors to take part in the »Actively Green« movement.

Sets of content found on the website combine previous achievements with new ideas on how one can individually contribute to a greener future, and steadily call upon efforts toward (co)creating a greener Ljubljana.
Individuals are encouraged to write down their actions and show them to others as examples of good practice. In doing so, they become ambassadors of the city, helping achieve numerous »green« goals, first and foremost acting as representatives of a generation living responsibly and environmentally friendly.
This mosaic consists of the social network Instagram, which through sensible »hashtags« combines photographs of those who have contributed to the green story (for example, we encourage them to take an old couch to an assembly centre instead of throwing it in the garbage, then acknowledge their action with an #EGCwaste hashtag to encourage others to act responsibly, or as another example, to use their bicycle instead of their car and share their experience by hashtagging #EGCbicycle). The municipality of Ljubljana will encourage responsible behaviour through numerous campaigns in 2016, which will »preserve« the online city even more.
We have designed an interactive platform dedicated to reaching and motivating those who want a greener future.
Offering deliberate, concise sets of contexts, enriched with visuals, we acquaint the visitors with projects which assure a higher living standard, then we encourage them to actualise and spread this environmentally friendly behaviour themselves. For the latter, we have incorporated the social network Instagram, which uses photographs to portray the stories of individuals who are actively »green«.
Since the website www.greenljubljana.com was launched, it has received a large number of visitors. Consequently, it unites an increasing number of thematic photographs, which shows how we have integrated the visitors into the story of the brand and convinced them to spread the »green« message. The website has been awarded the Netko finalist 2015 sign in three categories: Media and Informative Projects, Digital Performance of National and Public Administration, and Friendliest Content for Children and internationally as Awwwards nominee, Site of the Day (Design Nominees) and Special Kudos (CSS Desing Awards) certificate.
